The Archbishop of Douala thinks that the candidacy of President Paul Biya is not realistic.
Bishop Samuel Kleda hopes for a peaceful transition for Cameroon as the country moves towards a presidential election in 2025.
“People are worried. What I want for my country is a peaceful transition. Which means that we organize elections according to standards. Elections where everyone accepts the democratic game. That’s my position,” Monsignor Samuel Kleda said in an interview with RFI.
“He who wins the elections fairly is the one who must govern,” added Mgr Samuel Kleda.
“This is what I want for my country,” declared Monsignor Samuel Kleda.
Talking about the transition, Monsignor Samuel Kleda said he hopes “that we prepare ourselves and not wait for something”.
More specifically on the candidacy of President Paul Biya for a new mandate, the judgment of Monsignor Samuel Kleda is clear: “It is not realistic,” insisted the man of God.
