Three persons fell in the arms of secessionist this 20th of May in Bello, Boyo Division in the North West Region of the Country, among which the Mayor of Bello and the Regional delegate of basic education while the nation’s capital was all in bright colors in celebration of the 52nd national unity in the presence of the head of state. The commemoration of this historic day that was supposed to involve the whole country has become a sad one for some while others feast.
52 years down the line, Cameroon that was supposed to be a matured state as for 7 years now been morning for its children because of a misunderstanding that would have long ago been sorted out. A day that was celebrated in the past with much joy in the whole republic has today become a day that some will be in joy while others will be scared to step out.
Coincidentally the 52th edition of the national day this year fell on a Monday, a day that the separatists fighters had declared to be a ghost town day in the two English speaking regions, the North West and the South West, consequently the celebration ground was not as full like it use to be in the past in Buea and Kumba in the the South west region and also in some towns in the sister Region. Though Governor Adolf Lele Lafrique of the North West Region condemned the Bello killings, the did has been done and the death toll keeps moving on the rise considering that not less than five gendarme officers fell in a fatal ambush a couple of days earlier.
After the incident in Boyo, Senior Divisional Officer for the area Saidou Moussa called on the secessionist to drop their guns and join in the development of the country.
Loud voice of cry keep coming from far and wide to call for the end of the dirty war that does not profit any of the sides if not the cynical protagonist that keep pulling strings in the hidings for their own selfish aims.
Nevertheless, sooner or later, the war will end where it ought to have started, on a round table.
