The populace in bliss to notice that the Minister of Territorial Administration had a firm reaction against illegal churches in Cameroon. The warning might bring back quietness in their immediate environment like it was before
Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji has sent out a firm warning to all churches in the national territory operating without license to stop operating before it is too late. “In Cameroon, only the Head of State can authorize any church to go operational. So for those who are operating without the decree from the head of state, am advising them to close down, before I get to them. They should start closing before I get to them.” The minister said firmly.The warning asking Pentecostal churches to get on the page before the 25th of January 2025 was issued during a press conference in Yaoundé lately.
It was about time the Territorial Administration boss hits the hand on the table concerning churches that have transformed the immediate environment of Cameroonians to a living hell. Loud sounding music and noisy prayers here and there regardless of the area, the time or day. One would ask if God was deaf. The society was left helpless in the hands of charlatans who used unavowed powers to make deceitful miracles that swept from their feet a whole lot of people from their traditional values.
With countless abominable acts registered almost on daily basis in these houses of doom by those fake pastors and prophets that parade the streets, the last one being the death of a critically sick woman on oxygen assistance in a hospital ward in the Bamenda Regional Hospital, whose oxygen tube was removed by a fake prophet, who barged into the ward and said his prayers were going to heal the patients. Instead, this critically ill woman who was oxygen assisted died from his action. As such the few right thinking fraction of the population did not stop to ask themselves when the government will finally wake up from slumber and act firmly.
Nevertheless, may this ministerial warning that has rekindle hope in the hearts of the populace not go dormant, in the case where the mushroom churches owners do not give a respectable reaction to it.
